Sunfire to raise EUR 315m

Sunfire GmbH, the Germany based developer and producer of reversible high-temperature electrolysers (RSOC) and high-temperature fuel cells (SOFC), has raised EUR 215m in equity capital in a Series E funding round from Lightrock LLP, the global impact investor, the Climate Pledge Fund of Amazon.com, Inc, the US based multinational technology company, Planet First Partners, the Luxembourg based growth investor, LGT Group, the Liechtenstein based private banking and asset management group, GIC Private Limited, the Singapore based sovereign wealth fund, Ahren Innovation Capital, the UK based investment institution, Carbon Equity, the Netherlands based fintech platform provider for alternative climate investing globally, Carbon Direct Capital Management, the US based global investment company, and Blue Earth Capital, the Switzerland based impact investing firm. In addition to the equity funding, the company has also secured a notable credit of up to EUR 100m from the European Investment Bank (EIB).
