Flower Labs GmbH, the Germany based provider of an open-source framework for training better AI on distributed data using federated learning and other privacy-enhancing technologies, has raised USD 20m (EUR 18.56m) in a series A funding round led by Felicis Ventures, the US based venture capital firm, with participation from investors including First Spark Ventures, the US based Deep Tech venture capital fund, Factorial Capital, the US based venture capital firm, Betaworks, the US based investor, accelerator and company builder, Y Combinator Management LLC, the US based accelerator, Pioneer Fund, the US based venture fund, Mozilla Ventures, the venture arm of Mozilla Corporation, the US based internet solutions and software provider, and private investors including Clem Delangue and Scott Chacon. The round values the company at USD 100m.
